Porting to KDE Frameworks 5

Porting to KDE Frameworks 5 is so easy even I can do it.

Almost all Kubuntu software is ported already. Some of the applications even managed to go qt-only because of all the awesome bits that moved from kdelibs into Qt5. It is all really very awesome I have to say.

  1. I have the latest Neon5 ISO provided by KDE.org (based on Kubuntu 14.04?) installed in a test partition and I’m missing the Driver Manager and it appears it cannot be installed as it’s part of System Settings and the current version of Plasma 5 System Settings doesn’t include a Driver Manager. This makes the install only usable for a short period of time until I see all sorts of graphic breakups and artifacts (Nouveau problems as usual running on an Nvidia GT-430. Needs proprietary driver).

And I’m a bit confused as nearly all KDE apps (Kate, Dolphin, etc) are shown as version 4.13.* (development). So does “About KDE” come to think of it, and this is latest Neon5, fully updated install.

I’ve found no information on what version I’m supposed to be seeing in the latest Plasma 5 beta release but a pure Kubuntu 14.10 alpha install shows the same version for KDE and KDE apps.

Am I missing something obvious here? Information is pretty spotty about the Neon5 ISO that I can find.
